I am a papermaker and a paper lover at heart, with a slight addiction to stationery. Originally, I was working in hospitality, but when the coronavirus hit and the hospitality industry was affected, I was left without work and began to think about what I would like to do. I started painting with watercolors, but the amount of paper I was wasting made me feel guilty. Fortunately, paper is easily recycled. I started making paper and had so much fun creating this new product that we decided to start selling it online.
Thus, The Paper Makers was born!
All of our papers are handmade in our studio with deckled edges, and no two papers are the same - we love it! We believe it gives our paper authenticity and character. Fun fact: I started making paper in our living room, and it took a lot of trial and error. In the very beginning, I was putting the freshly scooped paper on trays and having my husband and brother stand on the trays to press them, which is why I called the company The Papermaker(s).
Now, I work in my lovely two-floor studio, creating all those sheets. I love to see all the things created on the paper. I hope to inspire you and be inspired by you to keep creating and exploring new ways and products for papermaking. If you have any inquiries, questions, or ideas, please don't hesitate to contact me. I love to stay in touch personally.
